Classic electrostatic generator can produce spark up to 3" under favorable weather conditions. Two circular, 24-cm, acrylic plates have aluminum sectors pasted on their surface along the rim. Plates mounted parallel to each other and rotated with a handle-and-belt system in opposite directions. Jointless rubber belts with circular cross-sections for smooth running. The static charge generated is conducted to a pair of Leyden jars through metal brushes and gets accumulated on the pair of ball-shaped dischargers. When the potential build-up between the two dischargers is sufficiently high, a transfer of charge takes place in the form of an electric spark that jumps from one ball to another. Spark produced intermittently by the continuously-rotating plates. Complete apparatus mounted on a wooden base. Earthing terminals for Leyden jars. With instructions.
